This forum, a Phrenos designed project, took place under the patronage of the world famous singer Youssou Ndour, former minister of Tourism.
The first of its kind, this forum brought together over 250 business people from Senegal, Belgium and other parts of Europe to discuss the innovative partnerships with a focus on national and regional tourism.
The forum partners were numerous, including the Belgium Embassy to Senegal, Enabel, BIO-Invest, the NGO Entrepreneurs sans Frontières, l’AfricaMuseum, Creative Wallonia, the industrial group Cockerill Maintenance & Industries (CMI, sidérurgie, énergies renouvelables), the port of Antwerp and the Antwerp Diamond Association.
A cultural dialogue was held between two important experts Guido Greyseels, director of the Africa Museum in Brussels and Pr Hamady Bocoum, director of Musée des civilisations noires.
This session amongst others, was applauded for its innovative and novel approach to tackling issues that both impact Belgium and Senegal and therefore Europe and Africa.
In addition, a hakathon was organized alongside the forum, which brought together a number of Senegalese students, who competed in producing a mobil app with a focus Dakar and tourism.
