EDD Young Leaders Programme is an official European Commission programme, inviting young people from all corners of the world, aged 21 to 26, to engage young leaders to be part of the debate on the future of international development cooperation.
In 2017, over 3000 profiles were created, 680 applications sent from more than 130 countries to participate in the Young Leaders Programme. A total of 16 Young Leaders were then chosen to come to Brussels over an 11-day programme, which included: visits to European institutions, participation in workshops, meetings with key policymakers and interaction with other young people driving change around the world. All 16 Young Leaders took part as key speaker during an EDD session.
As the programme has grown from strength to strength, the EDD Young Leaders Alumni have created a network across the world, setting up and managing a dedicated blog as well as building an expanding alumni community.
Phrenos oversaw and managed the EDD Young Leaders Programme, application and selection process as well as its 360° media and communications campaign. On the spot in Brussels, the Phrenos team coordinated meetings with EU officials, stakeholders and the press in addition to coaching them in drafting clear messages and preparing presentations and speeches.
